Thanks to the temperate Mediterranean climate, interesting excursions are possible all year round. You can choose among hundreds of trails and panoramic routes: you can walk for hours along valleys, hills slopes overlooking the lake, or you can explore the woods and climb to the highest peaks, up to 2,000m above sea level.
We also offer a shuttle service that takes you back to the Scuderia from your daily hiking destination. Thus you will be sure not to miss the dinner with the tasty dishes of our cuisine.
Scuderia Castello is the ideal starting place for exploring charming routes and interesting itineraries for all needs and skills. We can suggest short and panoramic walks in the midst of olive groves, through small villages, or more difficult and wild itineraries depending on the season and the time available to you.
You only find some tips below but in our facility you’ll get all the necessary information including maps of the area.
1) Gaino-Ponte Camerate- Palazzo di Archesane- Rifugio Pirlo mt 1.165
Starting point at Palazzo di Archesane in 40 minutes you reach Passo Spino and Rifugio Pirlo.
From there you can walk to the top of monte Pizzocolo (see itinerary Rifugio Pirlo- Monte Pizzocolo mt. 1.582) or walk back to Palazzo. Path: n. 2
2) Rifugio Pirlo- Monte Pizzocolo mt. 1.582 – S. Urbano Paths 5- 23- 5 - 6
Starting from the refuge you get to the top of Monte Pizzocolo walking past a big field (called Prae) in about 2 hours’ time. Breathtaking landscape can be admired on sunny, clear days.
3) Loc. Pontesela - Campei di Fondo mt 793 - Campei di Mezzo- Campei di Cima mt 1.017 Path n. 22
4) From Campei di Cima you can reach the refuge Passo Spino along the Lodroni Path
From Campei di Cima you walk down to Passo della Fobbiola and from there walk south-east towards the refuge. Path n. 3 – 2 hours
5) La Bassa Via del Garda (The Lower Garda Route)
This itinerary is about 100km long and joins Salò to Limone and was created by the Regional Forestry Commission a few years ago.
An itinerary that links the coast-line to the hinterland through hills and cliffs with incredible views. You may choose to go on short walks or hike the whole route split in 5 breaks with overnight stays.
- From Salò to Toscolano through Valle delle Cartiere up to Gaino

- From Gargnano to Oldesio
- From Gardola to Voltino
- From Voltino to Limone
